I liked learning more about Amberly, Celeste, and America's maids.On the other hand, I want to know more about Clarkson after reading Amberly's story. a scene that we've already read in the series, but from a different character's perspective, so the dialogue is the same, though the thoughts are different.) It was interesting and gave some more insight into the characters, and I did really enjoy the illustrations, but I'm not as eager to own this one as I am the rest of the series.Unfortunately, I can't rate each individual story because it's been too long since I read it, but I remember that I preferred the stories about the more minor characters to the stories about Maxon and Aspen (because of the aforementioned repetition). I liked this collection of short stories, but I was kind of underwhelmed. I read this book last of all the series, so I had a hard time remembering events from the first book, so I recommend reading this after The One. The stories focus on characters with America, not the new ones with America’s daughter. I honestly didn’t think I’d be interested, but it really was intriguing to see the overall story from another character’s point of view. I didn’t give the stories in order except for the first one.
The last story is Maxim and America after they’ve been married for a couple of years. There’s a short story with Aspen’s point of view as well as one with Lucy’s point of view.
Another story deals with Maxim and how his life changed when the Selection began. We always wondered how his mother could be so nice while his father was such a violent and difficult person, so this story makes them more realistic. The first is Maxim’s mother-what her selection was like. There are several stories all told from different characters. I wasn’t sure I was interested and then decided to listen to it. You will read a series of short stories about different characters from The Selection series.If you read The Selection series, you’ll enjoy this as well.
